Autobiography
An autobiography is a book about the life of a person, written by that person.
39 may seem a young age to embark on such a literary challenge, particularly since so many of my projects and endeavors are only just beginning, but I do have a good reason for starting to put pen to paper, fingers to keys, now.
As my life as a professional trumpet player has morphed into something that feeds both on and into the blogosphere it seemed wholly appropriate to document this process using the medium that has brought me such success.
It is my intention to produce, promote, publicize and monetize my autobiography independently using nothing but this and my other blogs.
It is not my intention to write my autobiography as a blog. On the contrary, this blog will simply document the process of producing, promoting, publicizing and monetizing my autobiography.
A copy of Up The Octave, a title that has a very special meaning that will be revealed at a later date, will be given to anyone who supports this project and helps make it a success. A range of micropatronage options will be introduced over the next few days and weeks to give everyone an opportunity to contribute in their own way.
The book will be made available in many formats, as a PDF, an audio book and a conventional bound paper edition.
I will also write about this process from time to time on my other blogs, particularly Upstart Blogger given the scope and audience of that blog. It is hoped that the end result will not only be an autobiography that I can be proud of but also a blueprint, laid out clearly on this blog, that any author, aspiring or experienced, can follow to achieve the same results and the same independent publishing success.
